MPSC chief

Shillong, Jan. 16: Lutherine R. Sangma, a retired bureaucrat, has been appointed chairperson of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).

Sangma, who recently retired as commissioner and secretary (education department) and director of food and civil supplies department, was appointed to the post with effect from Tuesday.

The commission has been without a full-fledged chairperson since the retirement of former Andhra Pradesh additional chief secretary Ashok Kumar Tigidi, who was appointed in April 2011 and demitted office in December 2012.
