Job offer for father of rape victim

Patna, Jan. 13: The Bihar government will provide a job to the father of the 16-year-old girl who was allegedly gang-raped twice and then set ablaze at Madhyamgram in Calcutta.

It was decided after her family members met chief minister Nitish Kumar today at his 1 Aney Marg official residence.

“The chief minister met the victim’s family members and promised them all possible help, including a job in Bihar. He also said the government will fully rehabilitate them,” said principal secretary to the chief minister Anjani Kumar Singh.

Thanking Nitish, the girl’s father said: “We are very happy after meeting the chief minister. He has promised to extend all possible help. Nitishji said the Bihar government would always stand by us and would also support our genuine demands.”

He added: “We will not go to Calcutta until we are called for justice. We will go to our native district (Samastipur). However, our demand for a CBI probe will continue.”
