Tata accolade

Tata Steel won the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Award, 2013, in category A, for large independent companies with a turnover of Rs 2,000 crore and above, in New Delhi on December 20. The steel major received the recognition for its exemplary performance and contribution to economic, social and environmental segments of its business. Minister of state for corporate affairs Sachin Pilot and corporate honchos from across the country were present at the event. T.V. Narendran, managing director, Tata Steel (India and Southeast Asia), who received the award, said: “We are honoured. The CII-ITC sustainability award acknowledges Tata Steel’s efforts in the area of sustainability. Sustainability is the reason for our existence.” Instituted by the Centre in 2006, the CII-ITC Sustainability Award, tailored for the Indian industry, fosters mainstream sustainability practices in business models

Telecom service provider Aircel launched video calling benefits across its 3G circles on December 28, enabling its customers to enjoy the facility below Re 1 per minute. Anand Prakash, the company’s circle business head in Jharkhand, said those who had opted for Aircel products P1 28 and P1 128 would also be able to enjoy extra Aircel to Aircel video calling benefits of 10 minutes and 100 minutes respectively within the validity period. “The Indian market is witnessing an exponential surge in data usage.
