  • Renew your vows in style amidst the clear waters of Maldives

How does the idea of getting re-hitched in the middle of the Indian Ocean sound? No kidding. The newly inaugurated Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives is offering a Renewal of Vows package starting at $3,600 (about Rs 2.44 lakh) per couple that creates an exciting itinerary, though this cost doesn't include accommodation and airfares.

Once you have checked-in just wait for the magic to unfold. To begin with you'll receive a fruit platter and wine bottle upon arrival. And when it's time to renew your vows, you'll head for Ocean Pavilion that's set in complete seclusion amid the crystal clear waters of the Maldives and can be reached in two minutes via a speedboat. You'll get to say 'I do' in style on the decorated Ocean Pavilion, a Maldives-style structure with wooden panels and a tile roof, with wedding music and a flower shower. The package also throws in a wedding cake and a champagne bottle for a post-wedding toast. Since Maldives is an Islamic Republic, marriages of other faith cannot be officially held here. So, you'll say your vows before hotel staff that's dressed in traditional Maldivian attire and will be given a wedding certificate thereafter.

As part of the package, the ceremony at the tranquil Ocean Pavilion will be followed by a sunset cruise with your family and friends who have accompanied you for the celebrations. And to mark the perfect ending to the day, the hotel will arrange an under-the-stars party where guests will be treated to fresh seafood, canaps and champagne. The deal will even provide a photographer to capture the precious moments.

The add-ons include romantic time rejuvenating at the Jiva Grande Spa over a 50-minute spa treatment for you, a 15 per cent discount at the hotel's boutique throughout your stay apart from complimentary non-motorised watersports. A sightseeing tour of Mal, the capital of Maldives, along with family and a send off present on departure are all part of the deal.
