- Rain romance with timeless tunes

Rain songs made monsoon magic at Suron Ki Barsaat Abhijit Ke Saath, in association with t2, at Club Verde Vista by Conclave in Chakgaria last Sunday.

Singer Abhijit Ghoshal of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame entertained the audience with melodies old and new. He chose classics like Ek ladki bheegi bhagi si and Rimjhim gire saawan. Contemporary Bollywood hits like Ghanan ghanan were also a part of his two-hour-long performance.

“The kind of requests I got from the audience shows their knowledge of music. Somebody asked me to sing Saawan barse tarse dil, which is not a very common request. I had kept some old songs like Saawan ka mahina for the elders,” said Abhijit, post-show. “You can celebrate monsoon in various ways and we thought there couldn’t be anything better than music,” said Bikram Banerjee, director, hospitality operations, Ambuja Neotia Group.
