Calcutta: India moved a position to fourth in the ICC Test rankings for teams replacing Pakistan, while veteran Sachin Tendulkar jumped three places to be 17th in the batsmen's chart announced here on Wednesday.
Among bowlers, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin with his match haul of 12 for 198 in the first Test rose to a career-best 11th. Pragyan Ojha remains at No. 8 on the list.
India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni charged up 15 places to 21st courtesy his maiden double hundred at Chennai. Other centurion of the Chennai Test Virat Kohli has gained 10 places and is now on a career-best 25th position.
Meanwhile, South Africa batsman Hashim Amla and Australia captain Michael Clarke have continued their dogfight for the No. 1 batting position.
Both the batsmen excelled in the Centurion and Chennai Tests, which meant both they gained ratings points and as such retained their pre-Test rankings.
