Imphal, Feb. 21: Southern Sporting Union reached the final of the 2nd Mairenbam Manindra Invitation Football Tournament played at Moirang multipurpose ground.

The first semi-final saw Southern Sporting Union beating AnoubaImagi Mangal by a solitary goal en route to the final.

The decisive goal for Southern Sporting Union came in the 26th minute of the first half with forward L. Gogocha Singh netting the winner.

Though Anouba Imagi Mangal fought hard for the equaliser they hardly got any opportunity, thereby making a sad exit.

The second semi-final will witness reigning CC Meet champion North Eastern Reorganisation and Cultural Association taking on Kuki Sporting Club tomorrow.
