Calcutta, Feb. 8: City-based FMCG firm Emami Ltd has posted a 21.6 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 114.93 crore in the third quarter ended December against Rs 94.51 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Total income from operations jumped 21.28 per cent to Rs 548.65 crore from Rs 452.36 crore a year ago.
For the nine months ended December, net profit surged 18.26 per cent to Rs 220.72 crore from Rs 186.64 crore in the year-ago period. Net sales stood at Rs 1,248.15 crore compared with Rs 1,055.07 crore in the previous year.
“Domestic business continued its robust growth in the third quarter. It grew 21.7 per cent with revenues at Rs 465 crore. The growth was led by Boroplus Antiseptic Cream. Other power brands such as Navratna, Zandu and Fair & Handsome grew in line with expectations. The healthcare division comprising over-the-counter, ethical and generic products also registered strong growth,” the company said in a statement.
