New Year’s Eve for you

The Orchid

Where: Lawn opposite Orchid Banquet and Restaurant, Uttarayon, Matigara

When: From 8pm

Events: Performance by a dancer from the UK, also a Calcutta-based troupe Beat Busters will perform. DJ Dipak to belt out peppy numbers. Fireworks at midnight and a bonfire to keep warm

Grub: Buffet of traditional and international cuisines. You can choose from mutton do-pyaza, murg-badam korma and chowk ki subzi, among others. For dessert there’s the Yule Log cake and a New Year pudding with brandy sauce. Vokda and whisky will flow too

Pocket pinch: Rs 2,500 for a couple, Rs 1,500 for singles, Rs 750 for children between 10 and 17 years, free for children below 9 years

The Savin Kingdom Water Park

Where: Savin Kingdom Water Park, Dagapur, Siliguri

When: From 8pm

Events: DJ Kapil to play foot-tapping music all night, live performances by singers Debojit and Ankita Paul and dancers from Mumbai. Tollywood actress Shrabanti will lend star appeal with her dance. A fashion show, fireworks and a laser show are in the plan

Grub: Twenty Chinese dishes. Liquor and mocktails will be served

Pocket pinch: Rs 3,000 a couple, Rs 2,000 for singles, Rs 900 for children above five years and up to 18, free for children below five

The Barsana

Where: Banquet hall and lawn at Barsana in Khaprail, Siliguri

When: From 8pm

Events: Fire play with performer Eshan and a hot-air balloon show. DJ Amin will play and a group called Step-Up will dance. The “most attractive face” and “the best couple” will win prizes

Grub: Vegetarian Indian and global cuisine

Where: Viramma Resort, Dagapur

When: From 6pm

Events: Rapper Yama Buddha from Kathmandu, DJ Guru from Darjeeling, dancers, fireworks and a bonfire

Grub: Snacks — chicken momo, chicken pakoras, chilli babycorn and thukpa — on offer

Darjeeling Gymkhana Club

Where: Darjeeling Gymkhana club, Chowrastha

When: From 7pm

Events: Enough space to dance here. It has one of the biggest dance floors in town. Tambola, housie, lucky draws and musical chairs are in order

Grub: Traditional Indian food from the Gymkhana kitchen

Pocket pinch: Rs 400 for single club members, Rs 700 for members with spouses, guests (strictly not single) will be charged Rs 1,500
