Saina gets top billing

Lucknow: Saina Nehwal is the top seed in wom-en’s singles for the Syed Modi International India GP Gold , starting here from Tuesday. In men’s singles, Taufik Hidayat got the top billing while P. Kashyap is seeded second. The other star attractions for the event are Ashwini Ponnappa, P Kashyap, PV Sindhu and Saurabh Verma.

Dipika wins

New Delhi: Dipika Pallikal entered the second round of the World Open Squash Championship with a 13-11, 11-9, 11-9 win over Malaysia’s Delia Arnold in Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean.

Tennis meet

Calcutta: Ishaque Eqbal beat Snehashish Mukherj-ee 6-4, 6-2 while Richie Aga-rwal defeated Rohit Ramp-uria 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 in the men’s singles matches of the Calcutta Gymkhana Grass Court tennis tournament on Monday. India upbeat
