Assam lose to Gujarat

Guwahati, Dec. 11: A half century by skipper Sanzow Brahma went in vain as Assam today went down to hosts Gujarat by 150 runs in their Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) plate group A match in Ahmedabad today.

Chasing a second innings target of 367 runs after Gujarat declared their second innings at overnight 251 for six this morning, Assam boys were bowled out for 216 in 93 overs on the last day of the four-day match today.

Assam had a cautious opening but could not sustain it as they started losing wickets at regular intervals before Brahma (68) shared a 34-run partnership with Wasiqur Rahman (8) and then a stand of 36 runs with Romario M. Sharma (24).
