Let there be light!

The 12th film in the Star Trek franchise, and the sequel to 2009’s Star Trek, may be hitting cinemas only in May 2013, but the first-look poster of Star Trek Into Darkness, which looks very similar to the teaser poster of The Dark Knight Rises, is already out. The new film in the much-loved sci-fi series has Captain Kirk (played by Chris Pine) leading a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction after the crew of the Enterprise discover an unstoppable force of terror within their own organisation. Also starring Sherlock dreamboat Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan with Avatar girl Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg, who was last seen in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and The Adventures of Tintin. Release date? May 17, 2013.

Bond envy

They may be good mates but Hugh Jackman can’t wait for Daniel Craig to step down so that he can slip into James Bond’s tux!

The gorgeous Australian actor has stated that he regrets not taking up the chance of playing the iconic agent when Casino Royale was first offered to him.

“At the time it was wrong for me, but when I saw Daniel in the movie I thought maybe I should have been more interested because it was great,” the Wolverine star has been quoted as saying.

Jackman — who like Craig is 44 — joked: “I will just wait. The good thing about Daniel is he’s, what, 62 now, isn’t he? He’s falling apart at the seams. So, I just keep telling him, ‘I’m ready, whenever you want to let go, I’m ready’. The good thing is I have also got a British passport!”

Jackman, however, may have to wait a while before he lands his dream role. Buddy Craig has already been signed on to play Bond in the next two films, with his latest, Skyfall, earning more than $870 million at the box-office.
