What is the easiest way to find the best shopping deals in Jharkhand and Odisha?

Put on your best shirt, strap your shoes and make sure that the car keys are in your pocket. Then before heading off, head for the nearest computer and log on to, two young entrepreneurs from the state would suggest.

Meet Jamshedpur boy Amit Kumar Mohanta and Ranchi’s Megha Choudhary (26), who together have put in place — a first of kinds market portal — to ease buyer worries.

So what is new?

The portal, unlike others, is not an online shopping website, the developers said. It is purely informative and only helps you find the best discount deals being offered in your city. One cannot buy or sell anything through it, the youngsters claimed.

“Once you hit the search button, it (the portal) displays only the best discount offers and cheapest products available in different shops. It is not an e-commerce portal. We are different because we aim to target people from the smaller cities of Jharkhand and Odisha and help save their time, money and efforts,” Amit, a graduate from Bhubaneswar’s KIIT University, said.

The site, which was launched in the last week of November, currently covers the cities of Jamshedpur, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack. It has already created quite the buzz on the Internet, with Amit stating that the portal would soon spread wings to other parts of Jharkhand.

“We are talks with some contacts in state capital Ranchi, coal town Dhanbad and Bokaro. After covering the major cities of Odisha and Jharkhand, we plan to branch out and target the metros of the country,” said Baridih-resident Amit.

Prodded for details as to how the portal worked, Amit said a user would have to simply log into the website, choose a city and browse through various categories of products and make a search selection.

Besides the best discount deals, the portal will also provide information about the important cultural functions and events taking place in that particular city.

Though the portal is free for the buyers, the traders in order to display their products online would have to cough up a certain amount of money. They can get in touch with the founders through the “Contact us” option on the page.

The website is owned by Pinaly Websoft Pvt. Limited and has its corporate office in Bhubaneswar.
