Imphal West triumph

Imphal, Nov. 19: Imphal West defeated Kakching Sports Association 11-0 in the last league round match of the 9th sub-junior girls’ football league to take the runners-up position today at Khuman Lampak sports complex main stadium.

The league ended today. Imphal East has already bagged the champions’ title.

It was an easy fight for Imphal West and L. Anita Devi was the star of the winning team today, scoring eight of the 11 goals. A. Nandita scored two goals in 63rd and 79th minutes while L. Avians scored one goal in the 74th minute.

Softball: The 30th junior national softball championship will begin at Khuman Lampak main stadium tomorrow. Deputy chief minister Gaikhangam will open the championship.

Altogether 18 teams would be taking part in the championship.
