Coal town felicitates players

Dhanbad, Nov. 15: Dhanbad deputy commissioner Prashant Kumar today called upon people to work hard and cooperate to develop the state, not in the interest of individuals but of society and future generations.

Prashant gave appointment letters for government jobs to 84 village labour workers, also known as Jan Sevaks.

On the occasion, Dhanbad District Olympic Association honoured 15 players in the afternoon. Shakti Modi (football) Mamta Tuddu (archery), Aishwarya (chess) Puja Kumari (volleyball), Nitu Kumari (athletics), Pascal Lakra (basketball), R.B. Tirkey (hockey), Farjana Khan, Triveni Nishad, Pankaj Kumar, Amit Kumar, Vishwajit Kumar, Irshad Ahmad, Sarita Kumari and Ritu Kumari (all martial arts) were among those felicitated.

Several other programmes were held at different parts of Dhanbad city in which school children, sportspersons and artists participated.
