Trouble brews at Kingfisher

New Delhi, Nov. 15: Employees of Kingfisher Airlines, who have not received their May salary on Diwali despite an assurance from the management, are likely to strike work if they do not receive their dues by November 17. The Airports Authority has also warned that unless Kingfisher pays previous dues, its planes will not be allowed to take off or land at its airports.

Mumbai, Nov. 15: Market regulator Sebi today allowed mutual funds to participate in credit default swap transactions, which allow business entities to hedge risks associated with the bond market.

New Delhi, Nov. 15: The government today said it was planning a 10 per cent stake sale in NMDC by mid-December, which could fetch the exchequer about Rs 7,500 crore.

New Delhi, Nov. 15: The government is channelising funds for promoting Indian goods to China to bridge the trade imbalance, a senior official said. The trade deficit between the countries crossed $40 billion in 2011.

New Delhi, Nov. 15: Israeli firm Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd has postponed a meeting of shareholders to consider the company’s proposed merger with Sun Pharma.
