Kerala LPG

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 17 (PTI) The Congress-led UDF government in Kerala has decided to provide three subsidised LPG cylinders over and above the cap of six fixed by the Centre to all categories of consumers.

Chief minister Oommen Chandy said the number of cylinders used by a customer last fiscal would be taken as the base with a maximum of nine cylinders. The cabinet has endorsed the UDF's recommendation.

New Delhi (PTI): Delhi High Court has asked the Centre to take action against television channel Colours within a week for allegedly misusing the national anthem to promote its reality show Big Boss 6.

Diplomat bail

Bangalore (PTI): Karnataka High Court has granted conditional bail to French diplomat Pascal Mazurier, arrested for allegedly raping his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, observing that circumstantial evidence did not “specify” he had committed the offence.

Drink driving

New Delhi (PTI): A Delhi court has released a youth on probation in a drink driving case on the ground that sentencing him to jail term would affect his life and family. It said the appellant should be given a “chance for reformation”.
