TPC rebel held in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh, Oct. 7: A zonal commander of Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) was today arrested from Pelawal area in town after a chase by a police team tracked down the rebel who was riding a car.

Bhokta Neeraj Ganjhu was in charge of collecting levy in the districts of Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Chatra and Ranchi, superintendent of police Manoj Kaushik said.

Kaushik said Bhokta, a resident of Hurnali village in Chatra, was involved in killing Bashir Mian and his nephew in Khelari police station area of Ranchi few months ago.


The police are still clueless about three persons abducted by suspected CPI(Maoist) rebels in Laved village in Arki police station area of Khunti on Saturday night. The rebels have demanded that the police hand over informers to them in return for freeing Surendra Munda (20), Kishore Munda (43) and Hind Munda (53).
