Charleston: Leander Paes played a crucial role to help his team Washington Kastles triumph in the World Team Tennis (WTT) final on Sunday.
Washington registered a 20-19 victory over Sacramento to complete their second straight undefeated championship season.
Partnering Venus Williams, Paes won the mixed doubles event in a last-game tie-breaker to take the scores of both the teams at 15-games apiece. Venus beat Coco Vandeweghe in women’s singles to help the team notch up the title.
Washington (16-0) has won 32 straight matches the past two seasons.
