Heaven Blue soar high

Nagaon, Sept 12: Heaven Blue Athletic Club defeated Denizen Club 1-0 in a second round match of 8th Chief Executive Member Cup football tournament organised by Dima Hasao district sports association at N.L. Daulogupu sports complex in Haflong today.

Denizen striker Rashan Lama’s beautiful free kick in the second minute was foiled after the ball hit the bar. Lama’s second attempt in the 90th minute was skilfully foiled by rival midfielder Lalhanagaizula, whose shot in the 36th minute brought the only and winning goal for Heaven Blue in the 36th minute.

His second and third attempts in the 36th and 75th minutes were, however, skilfully saved by Denizen keeper Indrasingh Rangpi.

Heaven blue leftwinger Ramlailun was cautioned with a yellow card for unsporting behaviour in the 60th minute.

Tomorrow, 25 Assam Rifles will clash with Warriors of Waimijing in another second round match.
