Hic! Man dials MLA, in net

Patna, Nov. 8: A drunk resident of Patna City invited trouble for himself by calling up an MLA last night and landed behind bars today.

Identified as Dharmendra Kumar, the man is a state BJP member and a resident of Bahadurpur area of Patna City. Last night, after downing several pegs of liquor, he called up BJP MLA from Kumhrar Arun Kumar Sinha from his cellphone and hurled a volley of expletives at him. Dharmendra actually wanted to call up Arun, a friend of his, whose number along with that of the MLA’s was stored on his mobile, and abuse him.

Acting on the MLA’s FIR, Kadamkuan police nabbed Dharmendra from his residence today.

“The man works at the Patna airport private car parking area. He is a BJP member too. Earlier, he used to work as a private security guard at an ATM kiosk. Last night, the MLA received a call on his cellphone from a number (7808711162). The caller started abusing him. The same man repeated the act twice more and even threatened the MLA. The MLA tried to explain but the caller continued. The shaken MLA lodged an FIR this morning with Kadamkuan police station,” city central superintendent of police Shivdeep Lande said.

The police said immediately after the complaint was lodged, the police swung into action and nabbed the offender in a few hours after tracking his mobile details. “Dharmendra has some personal grudge against his friend and hence, wanted to abuse him,” the officer added.

“An FIR has been lodged against Dharmenda under Section 387 of IPC for making a threat call. He will be sent to prison,” a police officer at Kadamkuan police station said.
