Kokrajhar, Aug. 1: Indian Star Sports Club defeated Sayamaya Sports Club 5-3 in the Super division league match of Kokrajhar District Sports Association inter-club soccer league at KDSA ground today.

In an interesting match between the two teams, the first half went goalless.

Jwngdao Basumatary scored the first goal in the 57th minute for Indian Star.

Three minutes later, Mithun Basumatary consolidated the score. Sivaji Narzary added another goal for the team in the 65th minute to take the score to 3-0.

However, their happiness was shortlived, as Ishaq Sangma of Sayamaya scored three goals in quick succession in the 69th, 74th and 82nd minutes to equalise the score.

However, Indian Star striker Bilifang Basumatary scored two goals in the 86th and 89th minutes to take the score to 5-3 for the victory.

Tomorrow, Deodhani SC will play Iraqdao SC in an A-Division match.
