AI seeks amends for delay

Mumbai, Dec. 5: Air India is finalising a $840-million compensation package, which the airline will seek from US aircraft maker Boeing for the inordinate delay in the delivery of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. “The compensation is a mix of different services discount and money, “ Air India chief operating officer Captain Gustav Baldauf said.

Bank chiefs

New Delhi, Dec. 5: The government has begun the process of selecting chiefs of at least eight public sector banks, including the SBI, where the top positions will fall vacant in the next fiscal. The finance ministry is collecting personal records and profiles of the executive directors of the banks.

SCI plan

Mumbai, Dec. 5: State-run Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), which has raised around 1,200 crore through its follow-on public offer, is looking to spend $3 billion over the next three years for expansion.

New Delhi, Dec. 5: Under pressure from shareholders, mostly foreign institutions, at least two stock exchanges, including the BSE, may approach the government and Sebi against a proposal to disallow bourses from getting listed.
