Model on the move

I was always interested in modelling while in school and college. So winning the MTV Model Hunt in 2007 was a thrilling experience that proved to be a major turning point of my life. Soon after winning the title, I was offered a number of high profile advertising campaigns that were aired on television.

It wasn’t long before I got an offer from Bajaj Allianz for an international advertising campaign for television which was produced by an all-German crew. The director had exacting standards and didn’t allow me to put on any make-up for the shoot. But the shoot went well and the advertisement was well appreciated. That brought me plenty more modelling offers in Mumbai.

I also landed the Alpenliebe advertisement opposite Kajol and shooting with her was a great experience. Soon I will be on television in the new campaigns for Amul ice cream, MTNL and Nokia.

Winning Channel V India’s Hottest award for 2008-2009 helped me make an inroad into Bollywood. The contest was a tough fight as I was pitted against India’s top 20 models. But the audio and video rounds helped me bag the award.

Soon I will be seen playing one of the two heroines in the film Shabaash...You Can Do It, directed by Shankar Mandal. The movie has been shot in Nainital and I play a young collegiate who has a strong personality. I have also acted in and produced a short film for Cannes titled Instantaneous. The film has been directed by Suchita Bhatia and revolves around the Gen Next’s obsession with gadgets. I’m hoping the film will be well-received and will prove to be yet another turning point for me.
