A still from Shrek 3

Last weekend, 200 kids between the ages of eight and 13 got their fill of everyone’s favourite green ogre, with a special screening of Shrek 3 at Fame, Hiland Park. Organised by The Telegraph In Schools, in association with Freedom Fashions by Gini and Jony, the event was a treat for the winners of an SMS contest on famous Hollywood blockbusters organised by TTIS. Original DVDs of the movies that they were quizzed on — including classics like The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Fox And The Hound and newer hits like Hannah Montana — were also given away.

The weekly contest aims to offer TTIS readers more than just a reading experience. There are two questions per week on famous movies that readers need to answer and send in via SMS or email. The winners are chosen through a lucky draw and will be invited to a film show every month.

Shrek 3 was a movie I really wanted to watch and had missed it when it came to the theatres. So this was a completely unexpected surprise and was all about having a really good time,” said Sanchita Saha, a student of Class IX and a TTIS Tiger present at the screening.
