Examinees at SS High School in Gamharia sit on the floor to take the matriculation examination, which started on Wednesday. Jharkhand Academic Council chairman Shaligram Yadav said the examination went off peacefully barring some expulsions in Santhal Pargana, Ranchi and Seraikela-Kharsawan. Although human resource development minister Bandhu Tirkey said each candidate would be frisked before entering exam centres, council officials said the step could not be taken, as it would have taken a long time.
