Chilean author Raul Zurita will inaugurate the 29th Calcutta Book Fair, to be held from January 28 to February 8, 2004. Chile was chosen as the focal theme and partner country for the fair to commemorate the birth centenary of poet Pablo Neruda.
A two-day Chilean film festival has been lined up at Nandan on January 25. The Ashok Sarkar Memorial Lecture will be held on February 2, while the memorial lecture on late Supriya Sarkar has been slotted for February 4.
The entry season ticket to the ground might be hiked from Rs 12 to Rs 15, said Kalyan Shah, honorary general secretary of Publishers and Booksellers Guild. The single entry fare, however, remains Rs 5.
