New Delhi, Dec. 3: Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd will help Bihar State Electricity Board to execute Rs 1,100 crore sub-transmission and distribution schemes.
The government today cleared a Rs 768-crore project under the Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programme (APDRP) to set up distribution systems in various district of Bihar.
The project once completed will help reduce the outages of power by 50 per cent and transmission and distribution losses by 20-30 per cent.
PowerGird has signed the agreement with BSES to execute the project.
The scheme consists of constructing 50 new 33 kilo volt and 11 kilo volt sub-stations, revamping 200 existing sub-stations and laying more than 13,000 kilometer of power lines. It also involves installation of about 4,000 distribution transformers and revamping of 13,000 existing distribution transformers.
