New Delhi, Nov. 4: The noose around former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayavatiís neck tightened in the Rs 175-crore Taj corridor case, reports our special correspondent.
The Supreme Court asked Krishan Mahajan, the court-appointed commissioner in the case, to file an application challenging the stay on her arrest by Allahabad High Court. It also directed the commissioner to give details of the circumstances leading to the grant of the stay.
The matter came up during the apex courtís mention hour, when former Uttar Pradesh environment secretary V.K. Guptaís case for early hearing was taken up by a three-judge bench of Chief Justice V.. Khare, Justices S.B. Sinha and A.R. Lakshmanan.
