New Delhi, Oct. 14 (PTI): Hero Honda Motors, country’s largest motorcycle maker, has posted a net profit of Rs 156.55 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2003, registering a 12 per cent rise from Rs 139.84 crore in the year-ago period.
Net sales went up 2 per cent to Rs 1,261 crore in the July-September quarter from Rs 1,235.90 crore a year ago.
For the first half ended September 30, 2003, net profit jumped 12.67 per cent to Rs 314.37 crore from Rs 279 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Net sales grew 3 per cent year-on-year to 2,584.72 crore from Rs 2,510.27 crore, a company statement said.
Hero Honda sold 4,46,454 motorcycles in the second quarter, a 9.5 per cent rise over the previous year period.
Indian Hotels net up 31.32%
Indian Hotels Company Ltd has reported a 31.32 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 3.48 crore in the second quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 2.65 crore in the same period last year.
Total income in July-September increased to Rs 144.21 crore from Rs 126.4 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
Blue Dart net rises 38%
Courier and logistics major Blue Dart Express Ltd has posted a 38 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 6.64 crore in second quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 4.81 crore in the same period last year. The company's total income increased to Rs 88.61 crore in the quarter under review, against Rs 80.14 crore in the same period last year, a company release said.
