Calcutta, Sept. 13: Toyota Kirloskar Motor plans to clock a turnover of Rs 2,700 crore in the current fiscal against Rs 1,700 crore posted in 2002-03.
“The company will reach breakeven this fiscal with a substantial topline growth,” managing director Atsushi Toyoshima said.
Toyota Kirloskar has already carved out a niche in the multi-utility vehicle segment with the Qualis and is considering raising production capacity at its Bidadi plant near Bangalore.
The production capacity at the plant now stands at 50,000 units per annum, which the company plans to double in the next two years.
“Driven by the enthusiasm with which the Qualis was received, we were encouraged to launch the Corolla and the Camry,” Toyoshima said.
