New Delhi, Aug. 13: Fedders Lloyd Corporation, the air-conditioning and refrigeration major, is investing close to Rs 2 crore in a manufacturing facility at Kala Ambh in Himachal Pradesh. The firm plans to aggressively market its consumer products in 2004-05.
“The factory is expected to be operational by October-end this year. We have already invested about Rs 1.5 crore, final touches are yet to be given,” R. Krishnan, chief executive officer, Fedders Lloyd said on the sidelines of a conference.
This will be the company’s second plant at Kala Ambh. The existing factory manufactures airconditioners for the railways (Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains) and the defence sector.
The other two are located at Noida (which is primarily a research and development centre) and an associate factory at Guwahati set up in collaboration with the Assam government.
