New Delhi: Ashok Kumar Dalavi clinched top spot in bocce as India claimed their second gold in Special Olympics in Dublin, Tuesday.
According to information received here, he staved off the challengers from Zimbabwe, Martinique and Pakistan in the singles event. It is the first time India is participating in bocce, a game similar to bowling.
India also won a silver in swimming (100m free-style) when Sandeep Choudhari clocked 2:52.39.
The Indians took their medals’ tally to seven. While Jamol Joseph, Kariyyappa Kumar and Neeraj Mitra won silvers, Yashodhara Ramachandra and Pawan Sharma bagged bronze medals in one km cycling. (PTI)
