Jammu, June 8 (PTI): The Centre’s interlocutor on Jammu and Kashmir begins his second round of talks with political and social leaders during a week-long visit here starting today.
.. Vohra, who is visiting Jammu for the first time since being made interlocutor, will meet leaders of the BJP, the Panthers’ Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party, some prominent social organisations like the Dogra Sadar Sabha and a few Pundit outfits.
Vohra was reportedly briefed by Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee during a meeting two days ago on how to approach the talks.
The interlocutor visited Kashmir valley from April 21-29. During that time, he met mainstream political and social leaders and discussed various aspects of the Kashmir situation.
However, the separatist Hurriyat Conference is yet to respond to his invitation for talks.
After his Jammu talks, Vohra is likely to visit Leh and Kargil to get first-hand knowledge about the aspirations of locals in the frontier region.
