New Delhi: India suffered their first defeat in the Asia-Oceania qualifying tie of the world junior tennis championship in Melbourne, going down 1-2 to Korea on Wednesday.
Despite this reverse, India have ensured themselves a berth in the quarter finals and will play Indonesia in the last-eight stage, according to information received here.
The girls’ team’s progress to the knock-out stage was held up by rain after their match against Thailand was suspended with scores level 1-1.
The doubles match will be played on Thursday.
The top four of the twelve teams in the fray will make it to the world finals to be played in the Czech Republic in August.
