Calcutta: India striker Ashim Biswas will lead Bengal in the under-21 national football championship in Balia. Syed Rahim Nabi will be his deputy. The selectors Tuesday named a 20-strong team squad which leaves Wednesday.
Bengalís quarter final league matches are on May 10, 12 and 14. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 17 and the final on May 19.

Shield in July
This yearís IFA Shield will be held in July, in the midst of the local league. According to the calendar chalked out by the state association in consultation with the AIFF, the Shield tournament will be held between July 1 and 15. The clusters phase, to identify two qualifiers, will be held from May 15-30.
The CFL Super Division championship will get underway on June 15, while first division action will commence June 3.
