Calcutta: Satyadev Prasad of UP won the menís FITA round with 1322 points on Day I of the third national ranking archery championship at the SAI Eastern Centre Friday.
While Prasad scored 354 and 340 in the 30m and 50m categories, he further secured 329 and 299 in the 70 and 90m categories, respectively. Thus, his overall total moved to 1322. Ved Kumar of OFSCB with 1294 points finished second and Prabhat Kumar of ASI came third with 1284.
In the womenís section, as expected, the fight for top honours between Dola Banerjee of Jharkhand and her former Tata Archery Academy mate and now a competitor from Andhra Pradesh, Chekrovelu Swuro.
However, there was no stopping Dola, who continued to hog limelight at national level. She got the top spot with 1315 points while Chekrovelu came second with 1293. Reena Kumari of Jharkhand got the third spot with 1283.
Thirty-two among 35 men and eight among 11 women qualified for the Olympic round, to be held on Saturday.
