Mumbai: GM Dibyendu Barua outwitted N. Sudhakar Babu to emerge one of the early leaders after the Round II in the Commonwealth chess meet Monday.
While Barua maintained an all-win record, another GM from Bengal, Surya Shekhar Ganguly, settled for draw in his successive matches. In Round II, he drew with Parimargin Negi.
In other important matches, Russian ninth seed T. Vakhidov beat Dinesh Sharma to take his tally to two while Zhang Peng Xiang of China drew with compatriot Wang Yo. (PTI)
