Indian Airlines and subsidiary Alliance Air announced their summer schedule on Friday. The establishment of new air links between Calcutta and Shillong, Aizawl and Guwahati, and evening flights between Calcutta and Agartala are among the salient features.
From March 30, capacity is up on the Calcutta-Kathmandu route, with the introduction of another A-320 flight every week. There will also be daily flights on the Calcutta-Bangkok route, with an additional flight being operated on Tuesdays.
New flights: Shillong, capital of Meghalaya, finds a place on the airline network from the first week of April. From April 7, the new ATR flight, CD 7711, will leave Calcutta at 9.45 am and reach Shillong at 11.15 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Return flight CD 7712 will leave Shillong at 11.35 am and reach Calcutta at 1.05 pm.
Alliance Air will introduce flight CD 7717/7718 on the Calcutta/Agartala/Calcutta route from Sunday. The daily ATR flight to Agartala will leave Calcutta at 5.30 pm and the return flight will reach Calcutta at 8 pm.
New flights on ATR 42 aircrafts have also been introduced on the Calcutta/Guwahati and Guwahati/Aizawl routes from April.
Increase in capacity: Frequency of flights to Bangkok has been increased to seven days a week. IC 731 will leave Calcutta at 9.15 am on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while IC 727 to Bangkok, via Yangon, will leave the city at 10 am on Mondays and Thursdays. On Wednesdays, IC 729 will leave for Bangkok, via Gaya, at 9.15 am.
Flight frequency to Kathmandu has been increased from two to three days a week. Flight IC 747 to Kathmandu will leave the city at 1.40 pm on Fridays and Sundays. On Wednesdays, the flight will leave Calcutta at 12.50 pm.
CD 7278/7277, on the Calcutta-Bhubaneswar-Hyderabad sector, has been increased from thrice a week to four days a week. CD 7278 will leave Calcutta at 6 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight 7277 will arrive in the city at 9 am.
Flight IC 723 to Dhaka will leave Calcutta at 1.40 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
