Calcutta: The AIFF has decided to take some steps to ensure India’s place in the 2010 World Cup finals.
The AIFF, in a meeting with the Asian Football Confederation bosses in New Delhi, has decided to form a ‘Task Force’ by having four residential coaching camps in the four different zones — north, south, east and west.
According to a source, the most talented under-15 boys from each zone will be chosen and will undergo training in residential camps. One coach will be in charge of each zonal camp with a senior coach in overall charge.
A nationwide corporate meet has been proposed where top corporate houses will be invited. The houses can take the best national players on lien. Foreign players can also be hired.
