New Delhi, March 2: The Centre is laying the ground for its Ayodhya policy after its application to the Supreme Court comes up for hearing this week.
Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee was today briefed by the brains trust on Ayodhya, comprising his deputy L.K. Advani, law minister Arun Jaitley and attorney-general Soli Sorabjee.
The Centre had filed an application to the Supreme Court to vacate the stay order on the use of the undisputed land in the Ram Janmabhoomi/Babri Masjid complex. The hearing is expected on March 6.
If the Supreme Court vacates the stay order, the Centre may have to work out or execute instructions to hand over the undisputed land to the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas which claims to be its lawful custodian.
