Tribute to Netaji
A traditional birthday celebration will begin at Netaji Bhavan at 10.30 am, with Governor Viren J. Shah in attendance. The celebrations will include a Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose oration by academician Arjun Appadurai, followed by songs by Bangla band Bhoomi.
A series of programmes will be held at the base of Netaji’s statue on the Maidan, including a rally by Jyoti Basu, chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and other Left Front ministers at 12 noon.
A special docu-feature,
Netaji and India’s Freedom
, will be screened at the Sarat Bose Hall, Netaji Bhavan.
A 10-day pictorial exhibition is on at Raja Subodh Mullick Square.
Netaji’s statue will be garlanded at the Shyambazar five-point crossing at 8 am.
A tribute at the Forward Bloc party office, Central Avenue, at 9 am.
The annual sports meet for streetchildren, organised by World Vision, on the Bowbazar Maidan, from 10 am to 3 pm.
Theatre Slávas from Sweden will stage
at GD Birla Sabhagar at 6.30 pm.
Raj Babbar, Sonu Nigam, Sharad Kapoor and others will visit MusicWorld at 4.30 pm to promote

The 44th annual exhibition of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narendrapur, on the school premises from 3 pm to 6.30 pm.
