Calcutta, Dec 13: Bharti Infotel will roll-out its national long distance (NLD) services in Calcutta next week.
Speaking to newspersons here today, Bharti group chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said the company will introduce its service before the advent of Reliance Infocom. Bharti offers NLD telephony services under the brand IndiaOne.
“By March-end next year, our footprint will cover almost 90 per cent of the country’s cellular service,” said Mittal. “All our services will be GSM-based as we believe that it is a superior technology and can provide a number of value-added services.”
Bharti Infotel is a subsidiary of Bharti Televentures. It offers combined services of fixed line, long distance telephony, internet and V-sat.
The company plans to cover around 200 cities in India within the next two to three years through a fibre optic network of 30,000 km.
