Inauguration of an exhibition, Brahma to Bapu: Icons & Symbols in Indian Art, at CIMA Gallery, at 6 pm. The department of English and the Fine Arts Society of St Xavier’s present Red and Black 2002, an arts and craft exhibition, at the college. Wasim Kapoor, Niranjan Pradhan and Tanu-shree Shankar will attend Solo painting exhibition by Neelkant Choudhury, a Madhubani artist from Bihar, at The Address at 5 pm. Bangladeshi artist Shahabuddin Ahmed will inaugurate the show. An exhibition by eight artists at Chitrakoot Art Gallery, 3 pm to 8 pm.
A literary forum meeting at Sahitya Akademi auditorium. Oriya writer Manoj Das will speak on ‘Human predicament and the mystic folklore’. Author Debesh Ray will chair the meeting.
The second session of Link the Arts, as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Sapphire Creations Dance Workshop, at Caffeine, Gol Park, 6 pm onwards. The evening will comprise a site-specific presentation using the natural wall as theme, a discussion on the need for alternative spaces for performance and a music jam session featuring Black Coffee.
Priti Patel presents a dance recital at St James School, 12 noon, as part of Virasat 2002.
