Calcutta: Calcutta professional Rafiq Ali had a superb eight-under 64 round during the Pro-Am of the Servo Masters in Digboi, Assam, at Digboi Club Golf Links Tuesday. However, Rafiqís effort could only help his team to third position, as his citymate Yusuf Aliís and his team won the title with a tally of 125 points.
The winning team got the better of the second-placed team, headed by the current money list leader and defending champion Mukesh Kumar who himself contributed a superb round of six-under 66. The team had 117 points to show while Rafiqís team aggregated 114 points.
The Pro-Am was played on a stableford format, where the two best scores on each hole formed the teamís score for that hole. Each team comprised of one professional and three amateurs.
Apart from Mukesh Kumar, leading pros participating in the Pro-Am were Firoz Ali, Rohtas Singh, twice Indian Open champion Ali Sher, Digvijay Singh.
