Leisure lost, college canteen shut
Not so long ago, college common rooms were a place of attraction among students where they could gossip, play indoor games, and read magazines. At present, because of the tight academic schedule, students get little time to themselves. The concept of leisure is fast disappearing. Many colleges have discontinued with the common room facility. As a result they are falling prey to the all-play-no-work syndrome. Piyal Mukherjee, Lake Town.
