Namchi: The Calcutta Port Trust (CPT) moved into the quarter final of the All India Governorís gold cup football tournament Sunday after getting a walkover from their rival team from Nepal.
Organisers Sikkim Football Association said DAV, Nepal, which was supposed to come to the Bhaichung Bhutia stadium, could not leave their country due to some political agitation.
CPT will now meet ITI, Bangalore in the quarter final slated Wednesday.
Although the scheduled encounter could not take place, the organisers arranged an exhibition match between the Port Trust and the BSF, Jalandhar.
The Punjab team won 2-0, the goals scored by J. Ouseph and Boy Singh.
The proceeds of the match would be donated to a blind school, SFA secretay Menla Ethenpa said.
