Easy victory for FCI

FCI romped to an easy 3-1 victory over Ever Ready in a CFL Super Division return-leg match Monday. Sanjib Mishra, Ujjal Majhi and Sanjoy Majhi scored for FCI while Surojit Chakraborty reduced the margin. In another match, Eastern Railway and Bhratri Sangha were locked in a 1-1 draw. Somenath Pramanik and Palash Karmakar were the scorers.

Kallol Ganguly lifts title

Kallol Ganguly won the menís singles title in the South Dum Dum table tennis championships Monday. He beat Soumyajit Sarkar 12-10, 4-11, 13-11, 6-11, 11-6, 13-11 in the final. Mousami Pal won the womenís singles beating Saptaparni Guha in the finals. Other winners ó Boys Singles: Soumyajit Sarkar. Girls Singles: Mousami Pal. Sub-Junior Boys: Subham Kundu. Sub-Junior Girls: Pallavi Kundu. Cadet Boys: Sovik kar. Cadet Girls: Shreya Ghosh. Nursery Boys: Sourav Saha. Nursery Girls: Shrey Ghosh.

Table tennis championships

The Manish Chatterjee memorial table tennis championships will be held at the Khudiram Anushilan Kendra from October 3 to 5.

The last date of entry for the meet is on September 29.

Junior soccer

The inter-zonal junior football tournament organised by the Bankura Districts Sports Association will begin at the Bishnupur Stadium Thursday. The final of the three-day meet will be played Sunday.

Kabaddi meet

Ichapur Kho Kho Kabaddi club won the Ichapur Kabaddi meet. In the final, they beat Ichapur Central School (II) 74-52. Satyabrata Banerjee, Sahabag Ahmed, Binoy Mondal and Barun Santra were adjudged best players.

Saraf wins

Saraf Ali beat A. Agarwal 2-1 in the junior category of the Coca Cola state senior/ junior snooker championships organised by the Bengal Rowing Club. Other results: Ali Asgar bt R. Duggar 2-1; Bapi Das bt M. Raj 2-1; D. Garg byt V. Suraiya 2-0; W. Bhutia bt Manis Jain 2-0; B.K. Agarwal bt S. Poddar 2-1; Sudhir Patodi bt M. Anthony 2-0.

Sepak takraw

The state sepak takraw championship will be held at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra from Tuesday to Thursday.

World karate

National champion Debashish Majhi has been selected to take part in the World Karate Federation meet in Madrid from November 21 to 24. He will participate in the team kata event.
