Ajogyo is a tale of three people — Parna (Rituparna Sengupta), Prosenjit (Prosenjit) and Raktim (Silajit). Raktim and Parna are a married couple, battling a sudden twist of fate. Enter Prosenjit, aka Prosen, as Raktim’s friend. What follows is a tale of relationships and its multiple layers. Past and present collide in this Kaushik Ganguly directorial, which also marks Prosenjit and Rituparna’s 50th film together.
“Rituparna and Prosenjit have never appeared in a love story like this one before. They’ve appeared in stories depicting extramarital love affairs, a stereotypical relationship, and a story of a married couple before, but not like the one in Ajogyo,” shared Kaushik Ganguly, in a note to the media.
“It’s my third consecutive movie with Kaushik Ganguly and Surinder Films. Jyeshthoputro was a highly acclaimed film and a superhit, as was Drishtikone. It will be the third, and the most memorable since Ritu and I will be celebrating our 50th film together. It only takes place when the viewers express a desire to see us together on screen,” Prosenjit said in a statement to the press.
Talking about the film, Rituparna Sengupta, on her part, said, “I hope I’ve lived up to Kaushikda’s expectations as this is our third movie together. The script and Ajogyo’s story are both exquisite. I think Kaushikda has given us wonderful stories throughout. This film will also touch people’s hearts.”
The film hits the silver screen on June 7.
