What to expect?

The series of workshops brought forward by The Telegraph Online Edugraph would assist students in making the most of their summer holidays where learning would meet fun.

At the Vedic Maths workshop, for instance, participants will delve into innovative techniques that enhance their mathematical understanding, helping them tackle problems with creativity and confidence. “I have often found students having a phobia attached to mathematics. They just do it because they cannot get away with it, coping up with it somehow. Through Vedic maths, we make maths interesting. In my workshop, I would teach students how to calculate faster to solve various problems in less time. For instance, I would focus on teaching them to multiply 98X97 in 5 seconds,” said Gaurav Tekriwal, the founder and president of Vedic Maths Forum India.

The Robotics for Teens workshop will introduce students to Arduino boards and programming, offering hands-on experience with electronics and coding through projects like building line-following and obstacle-avoiding bots while those interested in art and craft can sign up for the Origami Sundays workshop that allows participants to master the art of paper folding, exploring its connection to STEM fields and enjoying its therapeutic benefits.

For budding writers, the Story Writing for Kids workshop will cover the essentials of storytelling, including plot development and character creation, while the Creative Writing for Teens workshop will help intermediate writers refine their narrative skills and explore various writing styles. “I think this is a fantastic initiative. Students are sure to find something that matches their interests because of the variety of workshops that are being offered. In the creative writing workshops I will conduct, the skill they will return with is an assured approach towards structuring, editing and analysing the accuracy of their choice of verbs and adjectives,” said Shuktara Lal, writer, editor and teacher.

Students interested in coding can join the Coding for Teens workshop to learn Python basics, Object-Oriented Programming, and build their own snake game.

The musically oriented can join the Introduction to Rap and Beat Production, where an award-winning rapper and producer Feyago will take school students through rap and beat production, the history of rap and songwriting. "I ensure students who will be a part of my workshop will have a productive time. Furthermore, The Telegraph Online Edugraph is doing a fantastic job by bringing together a whole bunch of topics in the form of workshops for students, an initiative that is rare to find,” Feyago said.

The workshops will cover a wide gamut of topics from life sciences and astronomy to photography, mobile filmmaking, card stacking, rap and beat production and more so that students can find something that matches their interests.
